The University of Houston placed 140 student-athletes on the Conference USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll for the 2010-11 academic year. The number of Houston student-athletes on the honor roll this season increased 20 percent from last year’s 117 honorees.Student- athletes with a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or higher will also receive the Commissioner's Acadmeic Medal.
Sixteen University of Houston student-athletes received Conference USA Commissioner’s Medals. Houston was represented in eight different sports for the 2010-11 academic year and earned the most recipients in the last four years
Lady Cougar volleyball squad had nine of its 12 student-athletes honored, including five who earned at least a 3.75 GPA. Volleyball lead the way with five students- athletes at or above the 3.75 GPA mark. Those receiving the medal from volleyball are Ashley Applequist, Alex Edwards, Stephanie Nwachukwu and Meredith Ware. Stephanie has earned this award for the second straighjt year!
